Boeing to Boost 737 & 787 Production

Boeing is evaluating options to increase production capacity across its 737 and 787 programs amid rising global demand and a substantial order backlog. In addition to raising output rates on existing final assembly lines, the company is also considering the introduction of additional assembly lines.

Under the 737 program, a gradual increase in production rates is planned. In this process, Boeing aims to ensure that the supply chain, parts availability, and quality control processes remain fully aligned with the higher production tempo. The company states that any production increases will be carried out within the existing safety and regulatory framework.

For the 787 Dreamliner program, Boeing is assessing an expansion of production capacity at its Charleston facility in South Carolina. Demand for widebody aircraft remains strong, with the order book extending well into the long term.
